I'm very grateful for the recognition of my work at FBA Futures at The Mall Galleries in London. This is a curated showcase of the best of British figurative works from the graduate shows from around the UK.
I enjoyed sharing my work and having the opportunity to talk to the gallery visitors at the private view. It was a very lively event, and pleasant to meet many newly graduated fellow artists, as well as collectors, curators and gallerists. Thank you to everyone for their enthusiastic support and complements.
I was delighted to see my work hanging on a dark grey background (although the curators were not aware of my campaign against white walls! ) It was a shame the work was over-lit, which bleached out the colours somewhat, although he photograph has probably exaggerated the effect, and the dutch metal should have had a dedicated light to enable it to shine, as it does in the detail photograph at the beginning of this post. However, all in all, it looked great in the grand setting of the gallery.
